Women’s leadership in sustainability is a topic that has been on my radar for a long time. It was key to my Master’s thesis research, which then informed my 2011 Solutions Journal piece, “Gender and the Sustainable Brain.” What I wrote in my closing paragraph holds:

I believe that encouraging the relational and empathetic aspects of human thinking—and better balancing that which has been perceived as masculine and feminine—will lead us to a more sustainable, enduring, and productive global community.

Fast forward to early 2018, and we see momentum building around the importance of women’s leadership (from factory floor to executive suite to political office) to boost integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  In the last few days, I’ve come across and re-shared a lot of great content on that broad theme. Below are a few tweet screenshots that should inspire you, as well.

Regarding a new Popular Science piece, “The U.N. Climate Panel needs more women.”

I’ve been lucky to be a part of a few as-yet unreleased projects on women, leadership and the SDGs in these past few months. So, stay tuned to my posts here, or my Twitter and LinkedIn feeds, for updates. As ever, if you’d like help jumpstarting your own organization or leader’s platform related to these topics – I’m your gal/this is a passion for me.
