As always, you said it so well!
What you say in this post is important. So important, in fact, that I decided to share it in the February issue of our newsletter.

What I find most interesting about your post is that I, and most of the women I know, have ALWAYS fit this description. (And we are all relatively high-income urban professional women in our 20s and 30s.) Much of the luxury marketing simply doesn't apply to our lives and is mentally discarded. At best, we tend to take the luxury ideas and find more realistic/affordable ways to fit those ideas into our own lives. Though I don't know much about the consumer issues of the very rich, overall I think appealing to the "Frugalista" will reach far more of the existing market in a far more realistic manner. Recession or not.

I really love your article because you put things into perspective. Frugalistas are discriminating. We do purchase goods, but we put a lot more thought behind shopping than the average person. We look for quality and whether the item will fit our lifestyle. We love a deal. On my blog, I really try to keep the outlook positive. We may have a challenging economy for years to come so it's best to learn how to enjoy your life now. One way to enjoy your life is to be fiscally responsible. Spending recklessly got all of us into the current economic state.
