Of Green Footprints and Square Footage

It isn’t easy being green, especially if you are a retailer conflicted between growing your physical space (in terms of square footage or number of stores) and inefficient use of environmental resources.  There are several ways to go about it.  You can certainly follow the traditional path and grow stores in terms of square footage.  But, if you step back and consider the environment and your market’s likely growing expectations on that front – you might want to be more innovative by limiting physical space a bit and using the web to its fullest.

    Hummm, I just returned from the Vegas Sustainable Furniture Show and wonder if hardcase stores will start downsizing as well. It’s not the footprint as much as what’s IN the footprint.
