The Affluent Are Online A-Searchin’
It shouldn’t be a surprise, necessarily, that the rich are savvy consumers. However, it is worth noting how they use their time online: searching rather than surfing, actively not passively.
This, from a recent MediaPost article (reg. required) by Adrienne W. Fawcett:
“According to a study on affluence and online activity by Jupiter Research, Americans with a household income over $100,000 spend a median of 17 hours a week online, compared to 14 hours for everyone else. They also are more aware of advertising and are more active online.”
Worth an extra note for those of us in the blog realm: The Jupiter study showed that 26% of affluents read blogs and 11% are blog authors (people with lesser income were comparatively at 22% and 6%).
