Woof: Look Who Is Influencing Home Purchases…

It is nice in more ways than one to have a few siblings. Point in fact, my sister thought of me when she read a story in her local paper about how much influence dogs have in a home-buying decision. Geez… I wonder why that made her think of me?
As I read "Canine Clout," (reg. required), a story by Chuck Green in the Feb 4, 2007, issue of The Chicago Tribune, a few dog-owning quotes spoke to me:
"We’re the kind of people who literally pick out a couch based on whether theire’s enough room for people and dogs." (Here, here.)
And, another from a woman, who also lays it on the line, saying that her dogs "have about a 98 percent vote. Name a choice, they have a say." (My dog gets 99%, probably.)
While, I could go on and on about all the canine-influenced people in the article, and what the real estate guys said about it, my marketing point is this: Who/what are your industry’s hidden purchase influencers? Are you ignoring the just-under the radar fact that women likely have a huge say over the purchase of your goods and services, whether you see them or not?
