eq-life: Health, Wellness and Electronics?
Last Wednesday night I attended an opening launch event for eq-life, a new Best Buy concept store in Minneapolis geared toward Baby Boom aged women. The place was abuzz with mainly business and media-related guests that evening, and the women in the crowd were loving it!
My first impressions:
I was surprised to see that it was a normal-sized space in a strip mall type location. Right off the bat, it was a more human-scale environment. In and of itself, that made it less intimidating than walking into a large Best Buy box. The palette is mainly soft greens, glass and blond wood. The space is clean and spare, with curving shelf displays. The first thing you see on your right when you walk in is a Caribou Coffee.
The electronics section called my name with a display of iPods (of course) and just a select number of laptops. The hair and body care selection includes the salon-quality/great packages that are not your usual drugstore fare. eq-life also carries the Caldrea, all-natural line of household cleaning products.
Gift bags for the event were Oscar-worthy, and, there were many interesting people in attendance, giving me even more to write about in future posts.
The initial verdict – yes, health, wellness and electronics just might work. I’ll write more and include more pics over the next few days.
